In the center of Gotha on a very narrow corner site with difficult lighting conditions we designed a building with a mixed use (commercial and housing). Since there were two partition walls to be built on, there was a heed for an inventive strategy to support enough sun and daylight. The division into two volumes enlarges the light exposed wall planes and generates a small yard with a stair case, allowing corner balconies to offer views along the street - thereby overcoming the narrow site conditions.
