The new gymnasium is placed parallel to the existing ensemble resulting in a rectangular geometry of the outer spaces which proofed to be advantageous for the overall spacial order.

Due to cost and functional efficiency the building was designed without lower levels. It is accessable on the ground floor providing easy access for special events as well as the regular mode of use.

Since the access is located at the narrow side, the internal arrangement keeps the buildings slim proportions in contrast to halls with a orthogonal acces on the long side. The square space in front of the entrance as well as the entrance spaces inside are illuminated at night adding an attractive city space to the neighborhood.
