In the city center of Erfurt on an attractive site a new shopping mall was planned to be developed. We designed the building as a dominating freestanding shape, with an organic geometry allowing reactions to all aspects of the sourrounding context. It also integrated the difficult circulation axes running diagonally across the site.

On two diagonally opposite edges of the building the two entrance halls are located linking Anger and Domplatz. In the building´s center there is a core circulation hall, day lit by skylights. The façade with a grid like structure and changing materials allows to relate to the context in a small and sensitive scale.
