Our design places additional spaces (a hall in the first floor and a gymnasium in the basement) in an extension that is seperated from the historic building in order to keep the yard space free and undivided. The design pursues an intensive visual and spacial relation between the new spaces and the yard therefore placing the main circulation axes along the glass façade facing the school yard.

The main interest of our design was to implement the image of lightness, clearness and modernity in contrast to the huge and gloomy historic building.
